Alan Nixon claims that West Ham is contemplating a “surprise” summer transfer for Tim Krul, the goalkeeper for Luton Town.
On Sunday, June 16, the Sun journalist revealed on his Patreon that the Hammers may try to make a deal with the seasoned goalie after his Kenilworth Road contract expires.
Since Wes Foderingham, a transfer target, has not yet accepted a contract offer from London Stadium, Krul is considered as a potential replacement for Julen Lopetegui, who is currently having issues in goal.
United moved for Krul as a result of that defeat, but it’s understood the 36-year-old will have other alternatives this summer, including the possibility of playing for a first club somewhere else.

There’s no reason the Irons shouldn’t try to sign Krul on a free transfer this summer, especially considering his lengthy and distinguished career.
Under Lopetegui, Alphonse Areola is probably going to remain a first-choice, but Lukasz Fabianski is about to finish his contract and will need to be replaced in the summer.
For the Hammers, staying ahead of the curve might be a crucial step, and bringing in Krul as a backup is undoubtedly not a terrible idea.
Even though he played in just six games for the Hatters in the previous season, he has a long resume that includes nearly 200 games played for Norwich City and Newcastle United in addition to 15 caps for the Netherlands at international level.
Lopetegui is obviously interested in adding a third goalkeeper to London Stadium. He has already shown interest in Foderingham and Asmir Begovic of QPR, but none of those moves appears to be progressing.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers submitted a bid for Samu Omorodion that exceeded £29 million, and Atletico Madrid responded.
