In light of a transfer update from Spain, John Wenham has urged Tottenham to sell midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

The owner of the respected Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose has called the 28-year-old’s time in North London a “complete disaster.” As reported by Fichajes on June 10, Atletico Madrid and Real Betis are both vying for Lo Celso’s signature;

Betis is eager to bring the Argentine back to the team and has already established contact with the Argentinean.

The La Liga team must first make room in their lineup with the likely departure of Nabil Fekir, and Wenham, speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, believes Lo Celso would do well if he were to return to Spain.

What he does in a Tottenham shirt is all that matters to me; what he can achieve for Argentina is not of interest to me.

It appears that Real Betis are considering him. Given the likelihood of losing Fekir, they most likely view Lo Celso as a direct replacement. “I just don’t think the Premier League is suited for him; I’m sure he would excel there.”

Therefore, the best possible thing would be to get him out of the club. “Once he leaves, his time will be viewed in the same way as Tanguy Ndombele’s time at the club – a complete disaster.”

Giovani Lo Celso, a midfielder for Tottenham, needs a buyer.

Given that Lo Celso is not a necessary member of Ange Postecoglou’s squad, and with just one year left on his contract in North London, it is time for the midfielder to be offloaded.

An extension of Lo Celso’s contract is highly unlikely, so if Lo Celso isn’t sold this summer, the club faces the real risk of losing him for nothing, which would be disastrous given the sum of money that has been committed in the player.

Fortunately for Tottenham, other teams want to sign him. So, Levy needs to make sure he takes advantage of that attention.
