Kotoni Staggs Injury Update
Broncos centre Kotoni Staggs sustained a fractured first rib in the Magic Round victory over the Sea Eagles.
Scans at the Clive Berghofer Qscan Facility confirmed Staggs’ injury – picked up in the first half of the Magic Round win – ahead of this Sunday’s derby against the Titans at Suncorp Stadium.
Staggs considered himself a chance of taking on the Titans and trained today at Red Hill, before the decision was made to rule him out.
Broncos Coach Kevin Walters said: “It is an injury that you can play with and we know that Kotoni is a tough player but l’ve taken that decision out of his hands.
“He will be far better to miss this week and then let it continue to heal over the bye round before we get back into it against the Sharks in Round 14.
“Indigenous Round is really special to Kotoni and the whole team will go out there and make sure we deliver a big performance for him and our supporters.”

Qscan Injury Update: Walters, Te Kura & Sailor
The Broncos can provide an update on injuries sustained by Billy Walters, Ben Te Kura and Tristan Sailor.
Broncos Head Of Performance Dave Ballard said: “Billy picked up a wrist ligament strain against the Tigers a few weeks ago and then copped a knock on it against the Eels on Friday night.
He is recovering well but we will take a conservative approach and he will sit out this week. He is a chance to play next week but we will be guided by how he progresses at training.
“Ben suffered a serious injury to his Lisfranc joint while playing for South Logan Magpies in the HostPlus Cup over the weekend and will require surgery in the next few days. He will need at least four months of recovery time and the club will provide him with all the support he requires as he goes throught the rehab process.
“Tristan will miss 4-6 weeks with a high ankle sprain picked up playing for Souths Logan in the same game as Ben. He will have surgery this week and move into his rehab program once the injury settles down.”
