Although the manager has a soft spot for his compatriot, he has bestowed the highest level of personal appreciation upon his captain, Callum McGregor.
The captain maintained the amazing record that he has yet to lose a cup final by adding another significant honor to his ever-expanding total over the weekend.
He is nothing short of key for Celtic, and having worked with him before his return to the champions, Rodgers has admitted he’d trust McGregor with his life.
He said: (Sky Sports) “This is a guy that I would trust with my life.
“From our first time working together, everything he gave me, then I trust his opinion.”
