Kendrick Perkins Says 1 Celtics Player Is Key To Winning Title
The Boston Celtics headed into the NBA playoffs this year as the top seed in the Eastern Conference after having the franchise’s best season in recent memory, finishing the regular season with a league-best 64 wins.
Along with dominating the competition during the regular season, the Celtics had the distinction of being the team to beat in the East, and they were able to live up to expectations, with Jayson Tatum and company cruising to the NBA Finals for the second time in three years with relative ease.
Even though the Celtics were able to wipe the floor with the competition in the conference quite easily, the team had to get through the first three rounds of the NBA postseason without one of their best offensive weapons, with Kristaps Porzingis dealing with a calf injury.
Fortunately for Boston, it seems as though they’ll have the veteran scorer back on the basketball floor for when the Finals get underway way next week, which is obviously a huge step in the right direction and what ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins believes to be the key to the Celtics winning it all, via NBA on ESPN.
With Porzingis back in the fold, especially if he’s near 100%, the Celtics will be a dangerous team for either the Dallas Mavericks or Minnesota Timberwolves to face in a seven-game series.
The veteran forward brings another dynamic entirely to the Celtics on offense, which will bode well for them against what will be a very good team in either the Mavericks or Timberwolves, but it remains to be seen whether that will be the difference-maker.
