Expert in the Bundesliga Kevin Hatchard has refuted reports that Bayern Munich is anticipated to pursue Emerson Royal this summer.
Several sources have reported in the past few days that Bayern Munich is interested in Emerson, who is reportedly surplus to needs for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.
This includes a statement from Bild stating that, following Spurs’ placement of the Brazilian on the shop window, Bayern is vying with AC Milan and Juventus for his services.
The 25-year-old is believed to be “ready to sell” for a price of approximately €29 million (£24.7 million), and the Bavarian club is “one of the several interesting options” for him, according to the source.
Even earlier this week, Brazilian publication Trivela hinted that the Bundesliga’s biggest clubs had already placed an offer for the Tottenham player.
Emerson Royal is not interested in Bayern
Florian Plettenberg, however, brushed down the rumors a few days ago, stating that although the German team had previously considered a deal for Emerson, a right-back is no now a top priority for the team.
Hatchard now says that the rumors are totally unfounded, posting on X, saying, “This Emerson Royal to Bayern story is wild.” They don’t need a right-back, he’s not talented enough, and he would be too pricey. Other than that, it all makes perfect sense.
