The arrival of Tommy Kahnle on Wednesday was much-needed for the New York Yankees, who had been patiently waiting for the return of important bullpen arms. In his comeback game against the Seattle Mariners, 34-year-old right-hander Kahnle pitched a spotless sixth inning to support starter Nestor Cortes. Cortes had a great outing of his own, giving up just three hits in five innings while striking out six to hold the Mariners scoreless.
