The University of Michigan guard Zach Zinter was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 85th pick in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Zinter led his team in 2023 and was a first-team All-American by unanimous vote. He was unanimously selected for the 2022 and 2023 Big Ten first teams. He was a two-time CDC Academic All-American as well. He was nominated to the first team in 2023 and the second team in 2022.
Zinter began 26 of the Wolverines’ 27 games in 2021 and 2022, when the team won the Joe Moore Award for having the top offensive line in the nation. Zinter started 42 games in all for the Wolverines.
In November, Zinter shattered both his fibula and tibia. He was consequently unable to take part in any sports testing. Zinter has long arms, which is advantageous, and is noticeably tall for a guard. His listed weight was approximately 320 pounds. He may have gained weight due to his fractured leg because of his weight of 309. If so, he might regain some weight now that he has been cleared.
