The Raiders didn’t think the QB possibilities in the later rounds were any better than their present room.
The dynamic talent added to the roster by the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday was the result of their draft. But the Raiders didn’t select a single quarterback despite the fact that quarterbacks were the big talk before the draft.
Carter Bradley, an undrafted quarterback, was added as a camp body. Most supporters thought the team would make a big run at a quarterback. There weren’t many guys available in the draft who Telesco thought would be an improvement over their current quarterback group.
In his last draft-related press conference, Telesco shared his opinions on the Raiders’ quarterback situation in general.
“On the third day? No. Not at all on the second day. Yes, the first day. but not following that. We would have taken action if we had believed that there was a quarterback out there who was either better than us or might be better still. However, it wasn’t in line.
For Telesco, it was the first round or bust. With Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew fighting during training camp, the Raiders believe they can win. They appear more optimistic about O’Connell’s ability to take a risk with Minshew serving as backup.
Ideally, one of the quarterbacks will be able to capitalize on the skill surrounding them.
