The NBA’s Orlando, Florida bubble presented players with an experience unlike any other, and a few of them seized the chance to socialize with players from rival clubs.
However, Udonis Haslem and Goran Dragic claim that wasn’t the case with the Miami Heat.
The Heat went to the NBA Finals, indicating that they were clearly locked in.
Miami advanced to the championship series in the 2020 NBA Playoffs by handily defeating the Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Boston Celtics. Fans will always remember the Heat’s postseason run even though they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals.
Major contributor to Miami’s success in 2020 was Dragic. He put up 19.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game on average over those playoffs. After the bubble run, he ended up playing with the Heat for one more season before moving on to other things in his career.
The journeyman guard never took home an NBA championship, but he did have some great seasons with the Heat, and while he was in South Florida, he was selected for the All-Star team for the first time.
Even though Haslem was already past his prime during the bubble season, he continued to be a valued member of the locker room staff. After the 2022–2023 season, he announced his retirement, after a career that saw him win three NBA titles with the Heat.
Although the Heat team of this season appears to be cohesive as well, there have recently been doubts about the club’s level of attention after certain players were seen leaving the team after their Game 1 loss to the Celtics.
When Game 2 of their first-round series takes place on Wednesday, Miami hopes to even the score.
The Heat made it to the NBA Finals in 2023, their second trip since the start of the bubble run. However, they will face numerous challenging challenges if they hope to return this season.
It would be a positive move if they could win on Wednesday, and it’s certain that Haslem and Dragic will be closely observing every move.
