Destiny Udogie’s expected length of absence from Tottenham Hotspur has been disclosed by Fabrizio Romano on social media. The defender is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
It’s a major setback for Tottenham ahead of the last few weeks of the Premier League season.This season, Destiny Udogie has played a significant role for Ange Postecoglou’s team.
Regretfully, he is no longer involved with the Spurs campaign. Following surgery, Udogie will be sidelined for a while.
To be fair, Udogie has garnered a lot of praise for his performance this season. The 21-year-old was still waiting to play for Tottenham when the current season began.
Since then, though, Udogie has made a name for himself as an integral part of Postecoglou’s team’s offensive strategy, often darting forward into such attacking areas.
The teenage player has forced his way into the Italy squad thanks to his form. His dreams of competing at Euro 2024 this summer, meanwhile, have already been crushed.
According to Fabrizio Romano on X, the Spurs think Udogie is considering a return in August.

A blow before the upcoming season
That Udogie’s season ended this way is such a pity. For Tottenham, who have been immensely exciting for much of the season, Udogie has been a revelation in the Premier League.
Spurs are still battling to get into the Champions League for the following season. Therefore, losing him for the remainder of the season is a major setback.
But not having Udogie for a significant portion of the preseason could be an even greater blow. Not enough recognition is given to what Postecoglou accomplished in his first few months at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
And there’s going to be a lot of anticipation for what he can accomplish this summer. Fans of Tottenham will undoubtedly be looking for evidence of improvement.
Next season, Udogie will undoubtedly be a key member of the team. Of course, though, losing him for the summer is a major blow.
