Although a recent report suggests Tottenham would try to talk RB Leipzig into a second loan term rather than exercise their meagre option to buy, they still expect to have Timo Werner back in their lineup for the upcoming campaign.
In January, 28-year-old Werner agreed to a six-month loan with Tottenham. His entry coincided with a dire dearth of options for Ange Postecoglou in the closing third.
Ivan Perisic and Manor Solomon were both hurt, and Perisic was about to rejoin Hajduk Split in Croatia nonetheless. Captain Son Heung-min had left for South Korea’s Asian Cup international duties.
