According to a pundit, he wants a “incredible” teenager to take James Maddison’s place at Tottenham.
Spurs suffered a setback in the top four as Maddison chastised
In what was possibly their worst performance of the season, Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou’s team lost 4-0 away to Newcastle United over the weekend, dealing a crushing blow to their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.
Postecoglou’s awful afternoon was capped off by goals from Alexander Isak (2), Anthony Gordon, and Fabian Schar. To make matters worse, top-four rivals Aston Villa sealed an outstanding victory away at title-chasing Arsenal.
At St. James’ Park, Spurs never really got going and finished second in every category. Their front line was also completely ineffectual against a strong Newcastle United team who scored all of Spurs’ goals at the appropriate times.
Summertime acquisitionSeveral players seemed a touch off-kilter, including England international James Maddison, who has faced criticism for his play after recovering from an ankle ligament surgery earlier in the season.
The most recent assertion made by TalkSPORT analyst Alan Pardew was that Maddison needs to get better and return to his peak, particularly with Euro 2024 rapidly approaching.
Though Maddison has undoubtedly declined after that injury, both Son and Maddison have been amazing,” Pardew remarked.”He is not having the same impact, and as we previously stated, I believe he has roughly six or seven games left to recover if he is going to start in the European Championship.
Despite this little dip, Maddison has been a star under Postecoglou overall, and Swedish analyst Martin Aslund is already optimistic that one player will eventually overtake the former Leicester City player.
Aslund hopes Bergvall joins Tottenham to take Maddison’s place.
Aslund stated on the Studio Allsvenskan podcast, as cited by Sport Witness, that while he may wish for it, he doesn’t think Tottenham will sign young Lucas Bergvall to replace Maddison.
I believe he will play a great role for the national team. “I believe he joins a top Benelux team, where he can establish himself as the greatest player of all time,” he declared.
Will he start for Tottenham in place of James Maddison? Though I hope I’m mistaken and he is, I don’t believe it. People interpret things differently than I do. Lucas is a fantastic football player.
As you can see, Bergvall is an opportunist who frequently takes on challenging tasks when playing football. If you want to play in the Premier League and have that role, you need to find out who else plays it. For example, how many players in Sweden play that role? Since there aren’t many, Lucas Bergvall has to rise to the top of the Swedish player record books. Is it certain he will be? No, I don’t believe that.
