The player who has been genuinely exceptional for Tottenham Hotspur this season has been identified by head coach Ange Postecoglou.
Even if Tottenham Hotspur won’t win the Premier League this year, the North London team has a strong chance of making it into the UEFA Champions League.
With 60 points from 31 games, Ange Postecoglou’s team is currently tied for fourth place in the table with Aston Villa, who are in fifth place after 32 games played.
Watching Tottenham has been quite enjoyable. This season, they have scored 65 goals in the Premier League, just six less than Manchester City, who are led by the legendary Ernst Haaland.
On defense, though, Spurs have not been that good. This season, Postecoglou’s club has given up 45 goals in the league.
This is partly because of Tottenham’s expansive style of play under Postecoglou, who plays with a high defensive line even when his team is playing with just nine men.
Ange Postecoglou offers his assessment of Guglielmo Vicario, the goalie for Tottenham Hotspur.
It is true that Spurs have a strong defensive lineup, which includes Postecoglou’s favorite player, Guglielmo Vicario.
Vicario has been exceptional this season, according to the Tottenham head coach, and he hasn’t been phased by opposition teams targeting him from set pieces.
Regarding Vicario, Postecoglou said to TNT Sports, “He’s handled it pretty well for the most part.” Vic has always been someone I’ve loved because he goes for the next ball that comes in after something like that.
The impact he has had is immense, especially considering that he is a goalie who has never participated in the Premier League. He just has one or two years of Serie A experience, and he didn’t join from a big club. Still, I think he’s been fantastic.
He has essentially kept us in many games this season with huge saves or moments of brilliance. I believe he’s been excellent for a goalie in his first season in the Premier League who is still extremely young in terms of maturity and top-tier experience.
Guglielmo Vicario tends to recover.
Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario of Tottenham Hotspur will, in my opinion, continue to mature and improve.
Vicario is currently 27 years old. Taking into account the longevity of goalkeepers in the modern game, that is comparatively young.
The Italy international has the ability to get even better, but he does need to improve and eliminate one or two areas of weakness. And I believe he will.
