Prior to the upcoming season, the North London team wants to strengthen their offensive line. They have their sights set on Santiago Gimenez and wish to add a new striker.
Spurs have taken notice of the 22-year-old due to his great play for Feyenoord and his impressive performances.
Gimenez is a “priority” target for Tottenham going into the summer, according to Rudy Galetti. The North London team has been in contact with the Dutch club for “weeks” as they try to sign him during the next transfer window.
Spurs parted ways with Harry Kane last summer. Despite the departure of their record goalscorer, they decided against signing a replacement. Ange Postecoglou used his wide players as centre-forwards and they have managed to cope with the England international’s absence.
But, the club are now looking to bring in a new striker as they look to add more firepower to their attack and help Postecoglou’s side compete at the highest level. They want someone who can help replace Kane in the long run and Tottenham feel Gimenez is an ideal fit for them.
The 22-year-old striker who arrived at Feyenoord in the summer of 2022 has been in sensational form in the recent past. In the ongoing season, he has scored 24 goals and has six assists in his 38 outings.
Several elite teams are keeping an eye on him due to his performances, but Spurs appear to be prioritizing their pursuit of him. They have been trying to work out a contract for his services with the Dutch club for weeks now. It will be intriguing to observe if they are able to reach an agreement.
