When Manchester United visits Brentford on Saturday, they’ll be hoping to carry over the energy from their exciting victory against Liverpool.
Before the international break, Erik ten Hag’s team defeated their fierce rivals in the FA Cup quarterfinals to set up a semi-final matchup with Coventry City. However, they will now be concentrating on their matchup with Thomas Frank’s club for the Champions League football title the following season.
Also, a number of players have made indications that they will play in the West London game on Saturday.Several players, including Lisandro Martinez, Rasmus Hojlund, Antony, and Sofyan Amrabat, have hinted that they would start the game against the Bees by posting pre-match images on their Instagram stories.
Concerns over multiple injuries plague United before of their matchup with Brentford. Ten Hag was unsure if Casemiro would start against Brentford despite the fact that he exercised outside this week after missing the match against Liverpool due to a hamstring issue.
“Casemiro? He is progressing well because he has already had many sessions on the field and yesterday’s team training,” he remarked. “We have to assess when we go tomorrow if he starts or whether we wait.”
But Martinez, Ten Hag’s team’s key center back, is expected to make a comeback. Due to a medial collateral ligament injury, the defender has not been able to play since February 4’s victory over West Ham.
“We have missed him every game because he brings a composure, a calmness in the team,” Ten Hag stated. He has a winning mentality at the same time, and he can articulate it rather well.
“He can transfer that into the team and that contributes a lot to our levels.”
