Dane Scarlett, according to Lilywhite Rose’s John Wenham, will play against Luton Town following his “phenomenal” stint with the England Under-20 squad.
Scarlett had a good overseas break in March.
The 20-year-old scored five goals in his two Under-20 Elite League games, one of which was as a second-half substitute.
On Friday, March 22, he scored a hat-trick in the first twenty minutes of a 5-1 victory over Poland’s Under-20 team. On Tuesday, March 26, he scored two goals off the bench in a 3-1 victory over the Czech Under-20 team.
After leaving Championship leaders Ipswich Town on loan, Scarlett returned to North London and hasn’t played much under Ange Postecoglou.
Nonetheless, Wenham feels he might receive a substantial amount of playing time when Tottenham plays Luton Town on Saturday, March 30, given his contributions for the Young Lions.
Scarlett had a great international break, according to Hamilton, the creator of the respected Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, who made this statement exclusively to Tottenham News.
Because of the rise of other young players like Jamie Donley, I’ve seen some Tottenham fans minimize his potential, therefore I was really happy for him.
Scarlett is an incredible young talent, as seen by his performance with England’s Under-20 squad.
“His confidence will be sky high coming back to North London, and I wouldn’t be shocked if he was given about 20 minutes against Luton on Saturday.”
Dane Scarlett could be used by Ange Postecoglou against Luton Town on Saturday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
In North London, Scarlett will undoubtedly feel as though he is prepared to prove himself.
He made his Premier League debut for Spurs more than three years ago, but he hasn’t been able to really take off with his boyhood team since. This is despite a couple of difficult loan stints in England.
He is more than capable of scoring goals, though, as seen by his most recent international exploits, and it seems like all he needs is a magical moment to regain his confidence at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Postecoglou would be advised to insert the forward against the Hatters at some stage during the match because that magical moment could happen against Luton.
In other Tottenham news, a surprising development affecting one of Postecoglou’s standout players at Manchester United has left one ex-Spurs staffer “baffled.”
