Spurs fans can expect to add more midfield players to their roster at the end of the season as a number of midfielders have been linked to the team.
There is definitely room for reinforcements in the middle of the park, given the unclear futures of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Tanguy Ndombele at the Spurs and the ongoing investigation into Oliver Skipp.
Although Conor Gallagher of Chelsea is rumored to be a target for Spurs, Lilywhites are reportedly interested in other midfield players as well. Spurs supporters are likely aware of this rumor.
Teun Koopmeiners, a star player for both Atalanta and the Netherlands, has, for example, been linked to a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in recent months.
The 26-year-old was the subject of a Spurs “knock on the door” earlier in February at the Italian club.
Koopmeiners has now stated in the press that the timing is ideal for teams like Tottenham to move forward.
He is quoted by the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf as saying: “Last year, Napoli showed real interest.

Ultimately, though, the two teams were unable to come to a consensus. I informed Atlanta that I wanted to depart in the upcoming summer.
Furthermore, Koopmeiners stated that the Premier League is his preferred league, even if he acknowledged it would take something “really interesting” to convince him to leave Bergamo this summer.
While my fiancée and I are enjoying ourselves greatly in Italy, I could even put up with the wet days at select clubs in England. “I hope opportunities arise so I can consider it,” he uttered.
For Tottenham Hotspur, why would Teun Koopmeiners be beneficial?
Given that Tottenham has had success in the Italian market recently, it appears that Koopmeiners would be a wise choice for them.
Throughout his 112 games, 26 goals, and 12 assists for the Bergamo club, he has been a shining star for Atalanta. In addition, he owns 20 Netherlands caps.
“The Dutchman is an extremely composed and cultured player at the base of midfield,” said Total Football Analysis back in 2021.
He is left-footed and capable of dropping back to play center-back, which has led to comparisons to both Nemanja Matic and his fellow countryman Daley Blind.
The alleged Tottenham target has been compared to Toni Kroos by Koopmeiners’ agent Bert Baving, while Atalanta star Domenico Progna has previously called him “extraordinary.”
“He’s a Toni Kroos, Jorginho, (Nemanja) Matic, or (Manuel) Locatelli type, only that Teun will score more goals than any of these players,” he previously told FC Inter News.
Koopmeiners appears to meet a lot of requirements for both Tottenham and the Premier League as a whole. He is a superb midfield player who can contribute with goals and defense while being cool and collected.
We’ll see if Spurs decide in the upcoming months to pursue the £51 million dynamic.
