Tottenham Hotspur confirm talented Nigerian forward has signed a new contract
Spurs have revealed that young Nigerian attacker Damola Ajayi has signed a new contract and committed his future to the team, releasing a statement on their official website.Ajayi was in talks with Tottenham about a new deal, and if a deal could be reached, the player would likely sign his first professional contract.
Tottenham has acknowledged that Ajayi has turned pro after agreeing to a new contract.
The gifted young player would have been a free agent at the conclusion of the 2023–2024 season if terms could not be worked out. He began the season as a second year scholar.
The senior players at Tottanham trained with Ajayi before the team left for pre-season games in Australia and Asia in preparation for the 2023–2024 season, which is why the first team coaches there hold Ajayi in such high regard.
He was also included in the initial team’s preliminary roster for the Premier League match against Leeds United towards the close of the previous campaign, and he was the 21st player to go to Elland Road with the first team.
As a player for Spurs, Ajayi participated in the U17 and U18 Premier League Cup double in 2022–2023. This season, he has seven goals from his representation of the youth teams in the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2, FA Youth Cup, EFL Trophy, and U18 Premier League Cup.
