It has been claimed that Tottenham and Bayern Munich will play a friendly this summer. The agreement was reached during the talks for Harry Kane’s transfer to the Bundesliga team prior to the start of the campaign, and the England international is expected to return to his former home stadium in August.
When it became apparent that Kane would not be extending his contract with the north London team, Spurs made the decision to break ways with him during the summer. The striker hasn’t looked back since Bayern and Tottenham came to an agreement to sign him for £82 million after the forward had many bids rejected at first.
Kane is unquestionably the leading scorer in the Bundesliga with 22 goals, having scored 26 goals in 23 games for Thomas Tuchel’s team. At the end of the season, it’s anticipated that the 30-year-old, who is poised for a record-breaking season, would have collected at least one award.
Since Ange Postecoglou instituted a new strategy to ensure that the club was not dependent on a single goal-scoring source, as they were in the past, Tottenham has also had success in the early going of the season. By season’s end, Kane will be able to observe how his previous team is performing under the former Celtic manager, it has been disclosed.
As part of the discussions for Kane, Bayern and Tottenham will play two friendly, with the first match set for the second week of August, according to BILD. The game is scheduled to take place in London, and Spurs will be paid for it.
The second match has not yet been set, and it is unclear if both teams will want to play each other again in 2025 in an effort to take advantage of the opportunity.
Though Kane is the only former Spurs player who will be visiting his old team, Eric Dier, a recent addition to Bayern, is also scheduled to make a return visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. After losing favor under Postecoglou, the center back signed a loan-to-buy agreement with the Allianz Arena team earlier this month.
Over the next few weeks, the English pair may also be paired with a well-known face in the Bundesliga as Kieran Trippier becomes a surprise target at Bayern. According to Di Marzio, Tuchel is desperate to sign a right-back this month, and the Newcastle defender is seen to be more achievable than Nordi Mukiele of Paris Saint-Germain.
