After Radu Dragusin, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in another Serie A defender – Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori.
Spurs have already accomplished a great deal throughout this transfer window. Timo Werner was also a great addition, having been signed on loan before Dragusin arrived. With their eyes now fixed forward, Tottenham has been connected to Calafiori.
Tottenham want to sign Riccardo Calafiori
Tottenham has had great success bringing in players from the Serie A, isn’t that right?
In recent years, seven current Spurs players—Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ivan Perisic, Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario, and most recently, Radu Dragusin—were signed from Italian teams.
Tottenham has benefited greatly from Fabio Paratici’s assistance in locating and completing deals for Serie A players, and it appears that Spurs will keep taking advantage of the Italian market whenever the chance presents itself.
Riccardo Calafiori of Bologna is reportedly wanted by Ange Postecoglou’s team, according to Quatidiano Sportivo and Tutto Bologna Web.
Although the 21-year-old Italian is a natural center back, he can also play left wing or left back. For the past few years, he has been seen as a tremendous talent, and he may soon make a significant move.
According to the sources, Calafiori is being pursued by Tottenham, Juventus, Napoli, and the two Milan clubs; a summer transfer is anticipated.
Tottenham will benefit from another defender.
The addition of Radu Dragusin is a major plus for Tottenham.
The Romanian will give Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven some much-needed cover, but Spurs have found themselves without both of their starting center halves this season.
The other available substitute, Ben Davies, is a Welshman who has unexpectedly been linked to a move to Leeds United but is now sidelined.
It would not be at all awful to make a move for someone like Calafiori, who is making an impression in the Serie A
Forza Italian Football claims that the young player has “impressive technical ability – good dribbling, accurate crossing and a powerful shot.”
In addition, the site notes that “he has demonstrated great personality and character in both his recovery process and on the pitch. Off the ball, he has the power, stamina, and intelligence required in defense.”
