Dier would have realized, of course, that his minutes would likely change with van de Ven’s arrival. Still, the England international has demonstrated such a selfless nature. So, it should come as no surprise that he was prepared to assist a possible opponent.

Since then, Dier has left to complete the remaining months of his Tottenham contract on loan at Bayern Munich. However, it is conceivable that he will continue to monitor Spurs’ advancement and van de Ven’s growth in the years to come.
