Player Ange Postecoglou allowed to leave Tottenham really helped Micky van de Ven settle at the club
For Spurs, Micky van de Ven has proven to be a brilliant acquisition. Going into the summer, it was obvious that the team needed reinforcements at the center of the defense.
In the end, Tottenham and Wolfsburg reached an agreement for the Dutchman that might have cost up to £43 million. But he’s showing himself to be well worth the money thus far.
Eric Dier one of those to help Micky van de Ven settle at Tottenham
Van de Ven was, according to Ange Postecoglou, the ideal defender for what he desired. You understand why, too.
The 22-year-old moves at an incredibly scary pace. Additionally, it permits Spurs to play a very high line. Additionally, it seems like Van de Ven brings out the best in Cristian Romero. Together, the two have been excellent.
Van de Ven has so far adapted quite well. And it appears that a few of his colleagues deserve recognition for that, as The Athletic has revealed that Eric Dier, James Maddison, and Heung-min Son were among those who truly assisted the young player in his formative years.
Englishman will surely monitor centre-back’s progress even after Spurs exit
To be honest, Tottenham supporters won’t be very surprised by any of the three choices. Maddison is the co-vice-captain and Son is the captain. Dier, meanwhile, was among the players with the longest tenure with the team entering the season.
Dier would have realized, of course, that his minutes would likely change with van de Ven’s arrival. Still, the England international has demonstrated such a selfless nature. So, it should come as no surprise that he was prepared to assist a possible opponent.
Since then, Dier has left to complete the remaining months of his Tottenham contract on loan at Bayern Munich. However, it is conceivable that he will continue to monitor Spurs’ advancement and van de Ven’s growth in the years to come.
