Ivan Perisic may depart Tottenham this month, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Ivan Perisic was a free agent when he joined Tottenham in the summer of 2022 from Inter Milan.

Spurs had to pay a high salary to the Croatian in order to persuade him to join them because there were no transfer fees associated with him. A £180,000-per-week deal was approved by Daniel Levy (Spotrac).

With only captain Son Heung-min earning more money than the 34-year-old, he is currently Tottenham’s second-highest paid player.

Due to injuries, Perisic’s season has been a nightmare. He may not be able to play again until the next season after rupturing his ACL in September.

Romano stated that there is a “99 percent guarantee” that Perisic would not play for Tottenham once more in regards to the Croatian. Perisic might depart before this month’s transfer window closes, he further asserted.

On Kick, he stated: “My response is no, I don’t think Ivan Perisic will play for Tottenham in the future.

“The injury, obviously, but also the fact that Hajduk Split is still hoping to sign Ivan Perisic in January.” In order to close the deal, they will push this week and the following week.

There is still a chance for Ivan Perisic to leave Tottenham during the January transfer window since Hajduk wants him. However, it is a given that Ivan Perisic will no longer play for Tottenham, 99 percent of the time.

Spurs should let him go

Especially in the last two months, we believe that Ivan Perisic would have been a great choice for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham this season.

The Croatian is among the top ball crossers, and if he had been healthy, Spurs could have benefited greatly from his versatility.

But given how bad Perisic’s injury is, it doesn’t make sense for Tottenham to keep him on the team until the end of the campaign.

In the next days, it would be ideal to come to an agreement to end his contract and allow him to go on a free transfer.
