Richarlison has sent a message to Timo Werner on Instagram after the striker’s first training session at Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.
Johan Lange, the technical director of Spurs, was reportedly a “key figure” in the transaction, and Ange Postecoglou is confident the striker will succeed in his system.
Werner’s move to North London has undoubtedly caused some controversy following his lackluster tenure at Chelsea from 2020 to 2022.
After moving back to Leipzig in 2022, the 27-year-old made 89 appearances for the Blues and contributed 44 goals. This season, he has had difficulty getting into the game.
However, Werner went right to work on the Hotspur Way pitches on Wednesday following his official signing with Spurs on Tuesday night.
He received a message from his new teammate, Richardson, following their initial meeting in north London.

It “felt good” to get going at Spurs, Werner said on Instagram on Wednesday night.
Greetings on my first day as a Spurs player! That was rather pleasant to feel.
After making a comeback into Postecoglou’s starting lineup, Richarlison has had a respectable run of play recently.
Five goals in his last five Premier League games have been scored by the 26-year-old.
Naturally, Werner’s presence means that he will have more competition for a spot on the Australian team.
It would not be surprising, though, if the two started together in the attacking lineup because Heung-Min Son is presently overseas at the Asian Cup.
Werner appears to be a good fit for Postecoglou’s style of play, despite his meager two goals in eight league appearances for Leipzig this season. The German forward should get along well with Postecoglou because of his remarkable speed and unwavering work ethic.
